NORTH ATLANTIC
SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURE
AND
ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE OSCILLATIONS

Ocean - stores energy in form of heat.
Atmosphere - stores tiny amount of energy, but received energy is transformed into atmospheric

pressure which in turn promotes or suppress ocean’s further energy absorption or release either directly

(controlling evaporation, cloudiness and albedo) or indirectly with effect on tidal mixing.
